I thought it would be fitting to post my first entry about how " The Independent Stylist " Came to be and what this blog is all about.
Firstly a little background, I'm currently busy with my degree in Fashion Design and for my thesis I had to identify a problem, and my collection at the end of the year would (hypothetically) be the solution to this problem.
So thus my problem statement: Tutorials for beginner sewers are either too up cycled base or over complicated. The purpose is, through social media provide tutorials that is both effective and boost the confidence of the user.
My Question is how can I create tutorials on a social media outlet that is both on trend, classic in style, easy to make and cost effective?
Therefore I created this blog as my main base where all my tutorials and explanations will be posted. I encourage all to please comment and share my findings as the purpose of "The Independent Stylist" is to inspire those that come across it.
The reason behind the name "The Independent Stylist" is that these tutorials will form a good platform for any fashion enthusiasts that perhaps don't have the financial needs but has a basic skill in sewing that wants to wear on trend/stylish clothing.
